On Oct. 28, 2026, Amazon announced five new Alexa devices, each running the latest Alexa experience. Certain capabilities require Alexa+, included with a Prime membership. Amazon says hundreds of millions of customers use the new Alexa and talk to Alexa two to three times more than before.

What Amazon launched

The refresh covers a nightstand alarm, speakers, a camera-equipped studio unit, a photo frame, and a large smart display—Echo Time, a new Echo Dot, Echo Studio with Home Camera, Alexa Photo Frame, and the all-new Echo Show 16.

Amazon also highlighted Alexa software: more natural conversations, deeper reasoning, clarifying questions, and coordination across sources for multi-step requests. Conversations organize into Cards across Echo devices, the Alexa app, and Alexa.com.

Echo Time and sleep sensing

Echo Time is Amazon's first smart alarm clock with Alexa+, built for the nightstand and camera-free, with hundreds of customizable clock faces. An optional smart alarm uses Omnisense sensor fusion: room temperature sensors and presence detection build your sleep routine; ultrasound detects breathing and proximity with no wearable. It finds lighter sleep and can wake you within 10 to 60 minutes of your set alarm.

The display mimics sunrise before the alarm, then shifts to dim night mode with reduced blue light. Alarm tones start quietly and build with each snooze, up to four times. Echo Time earned the National Sleep Foundation's SleepMark designation. It is $199.99, available today, in Graphite, Glacier White, and Coral Pink; the stand is $39.99 (bundle $239.98). Amazon Kids Echo Time starts from $209.99 with a year of Kids+.

Speakers: Echo Dot and Echo Studio with Home Camera

The new Echo Dot is the first with a built-in smart home hub (lights, locks, thermostats out of the box) and a built-in eero Wi-Fi extender for up to 1,000 sq ft of coverage. AZ3 silicon and a new AI Accelerator sharpen conversation detection and filter background noise on-device; Amazon cites 50% more bass than the prior Dot. $99.99, ships today; Kids version $109.99 with a year of Kids+.

Echo Studio with Home Camera combines Amazon's best-sounding speaker with a camera so Alexa can read a board-game box, recognize a cereal box to reorder, or let you check the room from the Alexa app. It supports Dolby Atmos and Advanced Room Adaptation, and will soon pair with compatible Fire TVs for video calling. $249.99, ships today; the regular Echo Studio stays $219.99.

Photo Frame and Echo Show 16

The Alexa Photo Frame is a 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen syncing with Amazon Photos. Alexa surfaces worthwhile shots, skips screenshots and clutter, and can show photos of a person, pet, or trip. Amazon's Oct. 28 lineup post did not list a price.

The Echo Show 16 has a 16-inch full HD screen, nearly 40% thinner with 10% more viewing area and 20% more power. Optional Nanomatte cuts glare by more than 90%. Screen Styles include family organizer, photo frame, and smart home dashboard with the new Alexa Home Map, plus built-in Fire TV and Echo Show's best camera yet—auto-framing and first-time night vision. Preorder from $499.99 ($569.99 Nanomatte), $100 off with preorder. Echo Show is Amazon's fastest-growing Echo line, up more than 25% year over year.

Prices and availability

Echo Time, Echo Dot, and Echo Studio with Home Camera are available or shipping today; Echo Show 16 is on preorder. Photo Frame pricing was not announced in Amazon's posts.

What it means — and privacy notes

Amazon is tying Alexa+ in Prime to hardware that adds bedroom ultrasound and presence sensing, living-room cameras, and hub coverage in a single Dot. That stack is convenient for wake-up, reordering, and whole-home Alexa—but it also places more sensors in private spaces. Review microphone, camera, and Alexa+ controls before enabling smart alarms or camera features.

For builders, the Dot hub and eero extender lower setup friction; Show 16 and Photo Frame push Alexa into dashboards and photos. The bet is that richer Cards and multi-step Alexa only stick if customers keep using refreshed hardware on day one.
