Sales automation company Nooks on Nov. 4, 2026 said it secured $500 million in growth capital from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund (CVF), a non-dilutive commitment aimed at sales and marketing spend rather than a traditional equity round. The same announcement introduced Node, which Nooks calls the first AI personal assistant for sales, and formalized its Revenue Agent Platform, where reps and AI agents work across the revenue lifecycle.

The commitment

In a Nov. 4 post, Nooks CEO Dan Lee said the company chose growth capital because customer economics—roughly 3x more pipeline for typical customers, ~3x year-over-year growth, and 135% net revenue retention—support a CVF structure that funds go-to-market from returns the spend generates. Nooks says more than 2,000 companies run on its platform and more than half use more than one Nooks product.

According to Reuters, General Catalyst's commitment involves taking a share of the returns its capital helps generate rather than buying a traditional equity stake, and Lee declined to give details on the terms. Reuters reports Nooks is on track to nearly triple annual recurring revenue by year-end but did not disclose the current figure. These sources do not disclose a valuation.

Lee told Reuters that financing aggressive growth and new products required substantial capital: “In order to completely transform any industry, you need a lot of capital.” He added that CVF was “the best way to finance both aggressive growth and also taking new products to market.”

Revenue Agent Platform

Nooks describes a “true revenue agent” as goal-oriented (owning outcomes such as advancing a deal), carrying durable context across calls and stakeholders, and self-learning from interactions. The Revenue Agent Platform runs Deal, Outbound, Expansion, and Coaching agents today, with Inbound agents planned for Q1 2027, per Nooks.

Nooks says it places calls and sends email on its own infrastructure so agents observe replies, meetings, and closed deals, and that Nooks Research trains on more than 1 billion real sales interactions. Before agents reach buyers, Nooks says they rehearse against simulated buyers.

Node

Node is positioned as an AI personal assistant—an “EA for the AE”—that prompts reps rather than waiting for prompts. Its first focus is deal management: remembering commitments from prior calls, drafting follow-ups for rep approval, flagging quiet buying-committee members, and suggesting moves when deals stall based on similar wins, Nooks says.

Each deal-team member gets a Node instance that shares what works across the team; reps approve every send, and Nooks says 96% of agent-drafted emails go out without edits. PR Newswire reported Node is set for general availability in early 2027.

What General Catalyst said

Pranav Singhvi, partner and co-head of the Customer Value Fund at General Catalyst, said in Nooks's release: “AI changed how software gets built. Nooks is changing how it gets sold.” Reuters quotes Singhvi saying the platform showed a predictable revenue engine and strong unit economics early.

Nooks says proceeds will fund new products, enterprise and international scale, and hiring across more than 100 open roles. Lee wrote that Node made Nooks's own sales team productive enough that the company is accelerating hiring.

Why sales AI now

Nooks argues sales lagged coding, legal, and support in AI transformation because persuasion lacks a single correct answer, but agents are improving quickly. Reuters frames the bet similarly: sales as the next profession reshaped after those fields.

What it means

Analysis (ours). A $500 million CVF commitment signals confidence in measurable pipeline and retention metrics rather than a headline equity valuation—useful for a category still proving agent ROI deal by deal.

Node plus the Revenue Agent Platform push Nooks from dialer and workflow tooling toward always-on deal staff that still keep humans in the loop on outbound sends. Whether 96% no-edit email rates hold at enterprise scale, and how CVF repayment interacts with growth spend, are the open questions Reuters could not fully detail.

What to watch

Node GA in early 2027 (per PR Newswire), Inbound agents in Q1 2027, enterprise and international rollout funded by the commitment, hiring against 100+ roles, and any disclosure of ARR as Nooks approaches the nearly triple year-end target Reuters cited without a baseline number.
